We found that there were two aspects to overcoming stress. The first and obvious is to avoid or reduce those things which cause the stress response. However, in the real world this is obviously hard to do. The second factor, and the one over which we have the most control is, to manage our response to these stressors.
If we can deal with the events that would normally trigger our stress response more effectively, we can massively reduce the physiological effects that our stress hormones would normally inflict upon us.
